Sheridan hosts top studios for opening of state-of-the-art animation centre
Executives from some of the top animation and digital media studios in North America were on hand last evening to officially open Sheridan Institute's new centre for animation. The multi-million dollar facility is the latest milestone in Sheridan's 35-year history as the leading animation educator in Canada. Representatives from Nelvana/Corus Entertainment, Disney Dreamworks Animation SKG, CORE Digital Pictures, JibJab and many other studios were on hand for the official opening of the Centre.

Edmonton's NorQuest College benefits from 2007 provincial budget
The president and CEO of NorQuest College is encouraged with the provincial government's latest cash injection to post-secondary institutions. "The seven per cent increase in base operating grants will add approximately $250,000 in revenue to the College annually, which will go toward existing and new program development," says Dr. Wayne Shillington. NorQuest will also benefit from an infusion of funding to address deferred maintenance. At present, the College's infrastructure maintenance deficit is more than $14 million.

Dr. Gerald Krispin Named New President of Concordia University College of Alberta
On April 13, 2007, a call to the presidency of Concordia University College of Alberta was extended by Concordia's Board of Regents to Dr. Gerald Krispin, Professor of Religious Studies at Concordia since 1987. Dr. Krispin has accepted this call and assumes his new responsibilities on July 1, 2007.

$15.2-Million Thompson Rivers Campus Officially Opens
Advanced Education Minister Murray Coell joined Rick Hansen, Thompson Rivers University officials and community members today for the official opening of the institution’s new $15.2-million campus in Williams Lake, providing space for more than 1,000 students.
