Prairie Welcomes Premier Ed Stelmach to Campus
Prairie was pleased to host Premier Ed Stelmach on campus today. Premier Stelmach toured Prairie's new Maxwell Centre with President Dr. Jon Ohlhauser. "We are thrilled that we had the opportunity to share with the Premier the vision of Prairie and it's new college, Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology," stated Dr. Ohlhauser. "Not only does brokering existing programs create efficiencies and reduce infrastructure costs, it also makes programs traditionally available in urban centres accessible to rural students. When students study careers like healthcare and resource management in a rural setting they are much more likely to look for employment in a rural setting upon graduation, providing needed skills in rural Alberta."
